So many favorites in this category! But I gotta go with Agio for eclectic Itallian. The chef always creates interesting combinations using the freshest ingredients. I almost always order the special and am always glad I did. We love their special event buffets. (With all the great hometown Italian, just please don't vote for a chain!)

I recently was a early Friday walk-in having come straight from the track. My party was ushered off to hot and uncomfortable outside dining area even though no one was in the restaurant. They would not allow us to sit inside the dining area which was empty. We ate in the bar area only to find out they were out of cherries and orange slices for our manhattans and old fashioneds. We did spend over $200 for a meal I could of had at the Olive Garden for $50. I had the sweet pork dish with the tasteless crab topping. It was neither sweet or delicious.

Upon leaving, we figured that the place would be packed. Even at 7:30, the dining room was empty except for 2 tables. They can leave their attitude somewhere else! I have been treated better at dog shows. They don't have the credentials to be this arrogant.

I was out for a late supper on a Saturday night 2 weeks ago at Agio and I was very impressed with the service. Our server Juan C. was great! He even made us dessert at 11:00 when the kitchen had already closed! Thanks for the great service Juan!

Agio's chef has a way of combining unique ingredients that taste great. This is a true talent. So many chefs today try to be clever but must not taste their final product. Chef Jeff knows what the bottom line is---great tasting food. He is the master.

The atmosphere, the service, the portions, the flavor and the price make it the best.

Chef Joesph and the entire staff make you feel like family whether you are there for the first time or a veteran diner. Along with the fantastic dishes offered, you get the true feel of the Mass Ave mystique through the glass windows reflecting the weather patterns and the downtown shoppers. I have experienced wonderful summer sunsets and blissful snowy nights there. If you truly have an event to attend, they get you in and out without making you feel rushed. I will drive past many northside eateries to land at Agio!
