Noticed some posts were removed that did not 'lift up' the gym.

New cheer uniforms are not at all appealing

I found this to be a very unprofessional organization - in every aspect. Can't believe the owner is allowing the gym to compete at (as it has been referred to) a 'peon' competition on October 11th. Way to go in talking the people into 'another' competition that weekend - amazing! ha!

Wonderful gym! Thanks Holly for all you've done for our girls. This gym has amazing teams that just get better each year. I can't wait to see what this year has in store for the fantastic teams both cheer and dance. Congradulations on a well run program.

Wow! Holly and the staff here are fantastic. This is the best cheer gym around.
They have a unique punch card system for charging for classes that allows me
to take a break or vacation and not loose money just because we want a week off!
They have a new hip hop program that will redefine the hip hop competitive dance
and how it is done. Patt Robinson can teach anyone to tumble and has taught my
kids so much. Terrain Davis has been instramental in keeping my daughter challenged and moving forward. We love this gym and everyone in it!

In regards to MomWhoKnowsAbtSports, your info is inaccurate. Both the youth and junior squads got to recompete on the 2nd day of competition. All teams that go to Florida compete on both Saturday and Sunday regardless of their rank from Saturday's competition. Secondly, it sounds to me like CheerMom2008 is a parent who is happy with the cheer program at Champion All-Stars. And lastly, do your homework when finding a gym that is right for you. What is right for one child might not be right for the next child. You can't go by one negative, or one positive comment when deciding which gym to join. The best advice is to talk to those who "currently" attend the facility you are interested in rather than talking to someone who has left the facility. Obviously, if someone left a facility they most likely aren't going to have nice things to say about the facility. Use your gut instinct when you visit the facility, only you as a parent know what is best for your child!!!

Yes, the girls are rewarded by the coaches for a job well done. They get sleepovers and have parties depending on the age of the squad. The coaches bring treats (suckers, candy, ice cream, etc) to practices for the girls after a good practice. I just wonder if Anonymous23 was ever at Champion because she is completely unaware of what goes on at the gym. About the gym being small, yes the gym is small, but even so some small gyms the owners don't know all of the famiiles on a first name basis. I do believe that even as the gym grows and gets larger the owner will still know everyone on a first name basis. That's just how she runs her business. The owner knowing the names of the families doesn't make the gym "better" per say, but it makes the environment better. Go to another gym and see if the owner says "hi" to you and knows you by your name. Most won't. Obviously Anonymous23 had a bad experience with Champion. That doesn't mean everyone whose been at Champion has though. There are families that have been at Champion since it opened. Repeat business is the true sign of how well a business is run. Families wouldn't return for a 2nd, 3rd and 4th year if all of what Anonymous23 said was true. Don't let one person's negative comment influence your decision regarding Champion All-Stars. And, in regards to asking "prior clients" for recommendations, who do you think most of the comments on this page are from? I think the word of those that still attend the gym are far more important and say far more about how a business is run than those from someone who is no longer with the gym. I would like to say it's obvious that Anonymous23 isn't going to give up with his/her negative comments, so from now on I'm just going to ignore them. I know how well this gym is run and know how much my daughter loves to cheer at Champion and that's enough for me. If anyone who hasn't attended Champion before would like recommendations regarding the gym and how it's run, stop by the gym some evening and talk to the parents in the waiting room. I think you'll learn far more from talking to someone first hand than reading an anonymous bulletin board.

In regards to Anonymous23, it's obvious your complaint is a personal attack on the gym owner. And, "extra charges"? What the heck. The only extra charges are those decided upon by each squad if they want to do gifts for the girls, or buy a gift for their coach during the holiday season, etc. A few competitions were added, but that was after much discussion with the individual squads to see if they were interested. Other than that, everything is outlined in the tryout paper (makeup, music fees, choreography fees, etc). And, if items ordered are never received, or never correct how did each squad member have a complete uniform to compete in all season long? That's just ridiculous. And, in regards to your final comment. Yes, girls are moody. And, yes they will have their days when they are upset, or not willing to practice. Kids are just that way. I don't think a kids having a few bad days brings down the unity of the gym. We all have bad days (even adults have days they'd rather be doing something else than what needs to be done). I can't think of any other gym where I'd rather spend my money. The parents all get along well, there is a nice bond between the team members and the girls really love what they do. The owner is on a first name basis with everyone and really tries to include the members of the gym in major decisions (uniform design, competition choice, etc). You won't find many other gyms where the members have as much input as we do at Champion. This gym is very well run and is a great atmosphere for a child to grow in. The coaches do a great job with the girls and reward them for a job well done. Patt is an awesome tumbling coach. No gym is perfect, but Champion All-Stars is a top notch facility and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in tumbling or competitive cheerleading!!

We love Champion All-Stars! Coach Patt is a superb tumbling instructor, and Erin and Tiffani are wonderful cheer coaches. I think the prices are very reasonable (overall, they were much higher at our previous gym), and I don't feel like there were any extra charges that I didn't already know about (everything was thoroughly communicated with the parents upfront, and then repeated via email many times later on). My daughter always enjoyed going to practice, and I never saw any drama while she was there--just a team of girls, working hard and having fun! We're definitely coming back for another season.

It's a shame that a disgruntled parent will try to tarnish this gym's name through such comments as below. Obviously this parent had some issues, but this negative comment should not be a reflection of what the majority thinks. Both of my daughters have been on teams at Champion for the past three years, and I have never seen a child leave practice upset or crying! Never. My daughters can't wait to get back to the gym, so we're there at least four times a week (but not because I am forcing them to go! Just the opposite!). Regarding the "extra charges," all Champion fees are presented at the start of each season, so there are no surprises; this season will be no different. In fact, Champion's fees are very reasonable compared to other local gyms. Cheerleading is an expensive sport, and if a parent thinks that being in this sport will stretch their budget too thin, then perhaps cheerleading is not the right thing for them. Regardless, though, I can't recommend this gym highly enough! We are looking forward to another great season!

I would be very cautious - lots of promises that never come through. Preferential treatment for 'related' parties. Too bad all girls are not treated equally. Always an extra charge for something. Especially be leary of new uniforms - amazingly - items ordered thru the gym never seem to be correct - or even received - you'll be lucky to have your 'entire' uniform before the end of the year. I think if all girls on the team were there because they want to be there it would also help - but some seem to be forced to be there and it makes very bad team unity when you always have a kid(s) upset. Practice is a waste when kids are walking out of the gym upset and/or crying and when they refuse to practice. Be leary of where you spend your $$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

The girls did wonderful in Florida. Yes the Junior team faultered and placed at the bottom. I certainly dont blame the coaches or the staff or even the girls, girls get sick, stunts fall, luckly no one was hurt or hospitalized. 8 of 14 for youth, that is wonderful for their first time there, and next time perhaps they will do better...it is a
competition some will win and some they will loose, those girls on all the teams work hard and
follow their coaching instruction. We will be with
Champion in the 08/09 season, my girls cant wait! Just because some have used this form to state they are unhappy with your
perceviced treatment perhaps you and your child should choose another sport... I have been in 3 gyms in 5 years... This gym trys the hardest to break the mold and do something different, they have a real spirit of family and care about one another, as well as a driving desire to do better.

Champion All-Stars has a fabulous competitive cheer program! My daughter had so much fun this season and made lots of friends. She is really looking forward to the upcoming season! As a parent who has been at another gym, I am very impressed with the team unity I have seen, as well as the commitment and excitement of the parents. I highly recommend this gym to anyone who is interested in a great cheer program with reasonable pricing and a positive environment.

Good point below about our last local competition! The Youth Level 2 team got 1st place (out of 9 teams) AND Grand Champion (beating out Level 3 and 4 teams!), the Juniors got 1st place, and the Mini team ended up in 2nd out of 10 teams (missing first by a very slim margin). Most importantly, though, the girls had a blast, as they did at all their competitions this season. At Champion, it is emphasized that winners display good sportsmanship at all times, regardless of whether they come in first place or last. This is yet another reason why I love this gym for my daughters!

After reading several of the "caddy" comments using your own words!! I have not seen another gym where most of the girls do get along! Obviously you are contributing to the "caddy" behavior by posting such an awful comment. You are talking about "little" girls who are proud of who and what they are!! Did you bother to mention how great we did at the last comp we attended her in INDY?? Youth was GRAND CHAMPIONS!!!! Who cares what place the received in Nationals - it was a GREAT team building experience. The girls all enjoyed themselves isn't that what childhood is about?? Again - Thank you to all the coaches and owner for a terrific year!
