I've only been there a couple times, but every time I've gone I've had a good time. They have a kind of formal environment, but that makes it nicer in my opinion.
The acoustics are superb, easily the best in Indianapolis. The variety of acts they have is vast. Where else in town can you hear music spanning from Mozart to My Morning Jacket to mariachi to musical theatre, in a given week?! The box office people have always greeted me with a smile and been extremely patient and helpful. I’ve seen them stay calm and polite even while dealing with very belligerent, very intoxicated patrons. The bathrooms are definitely clean and convenient. It’s nice to go somewhere and not have to deal with dirty facilities. The Executive Director, Elise Kushigian, has always personally taken care of any problem I’ve had. The ushers are courteous and helpful, with smiles that put me at ease. I just wish that they could have more events. It’s such a shame that there’s not a show there every night. With Clowes, you know that you will get not only quality acts, but also the ideal environment in which to experience them.
