Started back in 1955, Footlite Musicals continues to offer the best of Broadway. The theater presents seven productions a year with a new show on stage about every six weeks. Footlite’s mission is to produce musicals and other dramatic offerings and to provide for education and training of persons in the theatre through hands-on experience and classes in the various stages of dramatic and musical theater.
Footlite is a 52 year-old all volunteer community theatre. It is filled with people of all ages and backgrounds, who come together to share a love for live theatre. They do children's, youth, and young adult education programs in the summer, and support the training of artists all over Indy. The theatre itself is worth the trip - authentic old school theatre with a genuine organ that is performed before each show. If you used to go to the Paramount Music Palace for the organ playing, you'll love Footlite.
Footlite has one of the best theatre spaces in the city. The theatre experience is both intimate and impressive on the Footlite stage. Footlite is the only theatre dedicated to Musical Theatre.
