The store is in close proximity to Fort Harrison, where I served two years in the military.

Business has proven that the vision of staying small has been an excellent choice.

We have an interesting blend of delicious baked goods mixed in with interesting gift items. A very unique experience!

My philosophy always was to stay relatively small, to provide high quality products, and make my customers happy.

By now, we try to import almost anything that the average person would like to have from the old country. Love, love, love it!!! I got my wedding cake from them because I wouldn't trust just anyone with the most important day of my life. Now I have kids, and insist on buying their cakes there. when only the best will due, make the hike and get your moneys worth. The prices are great for what you get, quality!

Wonderful cakes and lovely family that own the bakery. Grew up ordering birthday cakes from the east side bakery. I will go out of my way to order cakes and stop by for lunch. Our wedding cake was also ordered from the Heidelberg. What a delight. There will be many more memories created by Heidelberg.

i love this place! when my parents come in town to visit, we come here every saturday morning for breakfast - which is DELICIOUS!!! then we look around at all of the trinkets - my father was actually born in Germany, so it's nice for him to taste the treats and other foods they sell. we usually leave with a few bags of baked goods as well!

I have been a patron of hte Heidelberg Haus Bakery for 20+ years and have always found its food to be wonderful, its staff pleasant and efficient and the ambience outstanding. It is like no other restaurant in the state or perhaps the nation and Juergen and his staff should be recognized!

An authentic German Master Konditor (baker), the highest rank, who was personal baker to Richard Nixon. Yes, it's kitschy. But Food Network thought it was great! My kids love going in and hearing the German being spoken there. They actually pick lunch there over McD's, between the bakery case and the great sausages. And they look forward at Christmas to the chocolate tree ornaments we get there, and the authentic, fresh German Christmas cookies of all kinds. And chocolate and candy available nowhere else in the area.

And the fact that you can get a cake made by this amazing, world-ranked baker? It's the real deal.

Not just a bakery. Great menu of some traditional German favorites. Great place for a business meeting over Kaffee und Kuchen. Far mor interesting that one of the gazilion "coffee" houses found on nearly every corner of town.

The pastries ar fabulous. The balance of flavor is exquisit and they do NOT have the very sweet tast you find in most pastries. The atmosphere is unique and the items in there are one of a kind. I am so impressed that 8 years ago I bought our wedding cakes there and transported them to the wedding in Michigan. We get cakes and take them to family functions in Michigan much to everyone's delight. Great European taste and flavor. Ken

I have been going to the Heidelberg for as long as I can remember. My father would take me to lunch at the Heidelberg and I always managed to gobble down the Black Forest Cake! Delicious. I have great memories from this place and have started taking my kids!

I have been coming here since birth! It doesn't get any better than this. The food, the atmosphere and especially the people are great! It's like Oktoberfest all year round.

Nothing else compares to this place when it comes to baked goods in the old European genre. You have also missed something if you have not just stopped in and checked this place out and had one of the various sausages and hot potato salad for lunch. Nothing like it.
