I photographed a July wedding at the Mavris and fell in love. Not only is the ambience perfect for those artsy photographs, but Amanda Lopez was fantastic at keeping the day running smoothly. I will recommend to anyone who wants a truly classic yet one-of-a-kind venue with lots of possibilities.
A truly Magical place! It's not a venue where people sit around. The atmosphere makes everyone want to be a part of the party!! Not to mention that the venue has an outdoor commons and three levels! My husband and I often wish that we could relive our wedding at the Mavris because it was SO Unique... and not like every other venue in Indy!
This building is magical. The owner has done an amazing job renovating this building, not only is this one of the best views of downtown, the heliport is right there which makes this one of the coolest Indianapolis locations. Bravo!!
NO place in Indy like Mavris for a wedding reception!! Cool, urban chic architecture and decor makes this a true stand-out from the run-of-the-mill "hall" venues. This place truly "made" our wedding, and I wouldn't have had it any other way. Plenty of catering partners to choose from, plus photo opportunities abound like no other. I am an artist, and John Mavris even let me turn his main lower level into a personal art gallery for our reception.
You know it's a fantastic site when the groom bothers to vote for it as best wedding venue in the city. I married my wife there on 7/29/2006, and things were superb.
We had our wedding reception there last December and it was the best! There is an energy and atmosphere created there that you can't find anywhere else in Indy!
As a vendor who delivers cakes to Mavris on a regular basis, I am most impressed with the ambiance and atmosphere of this event center. It is most impressive and, no matter how it is decorated, is always beautiful. John has put so much work into and has succeeded into making it one of Indy's best.
The Mavris Arts & Events Center is definitely a hidden treasure in downtown Indy when it comes to hosting an event in a beautiful and UNIQUE setting! Stay away from those big-box, generic hotel ballrooms for your events and check out Mavris! We've had a couple of corporate events there - and the feedback has been incredibly positive! Not only is the venue fantastic, but the staff are just delightful! I highly recommend the Mavris!
Words cannot describe how perfect the Mavris Center is... 9/14/07 was beyond the best night of my life and Mavris added all the right touches!!!!! I had an incredible amount of people come up to me asking how I had ever heard of the place or found it and how they had always wanted to go to an even somewhere like that. Mavris helped to make our wedding night one to remember forever, for more people than just the bride and groom. :)
I was looking for a venue for a company retreat. When I walked into the Mavris Arts & Event Center, my jaw dropped. The decor is beautiful, and the view of Indy is definitely a plus. John and the staff were very accommodating for our retreat.
My husband and I had our reception at Mavris this past February and it was fabulous! Everyone had a great time and still talks about how the Mavris is so unique and beautiful.
John Mavris was amazing to us and helped us every step of the way. We would recommend him and his facility to everyone we know....
