Shallos Antique Restaurant and Brewhaus is a southside Indianapolis secret known for their swamp sauce, home made potato chips, and lots of bottled and draft beers. 40 beers on tap and 500 or so in the coolers, to be less than exact. Forget the beer menu, it's outdated and changes weekly due to "world economic conditions."
Shallos is such a comfortable place to go and enjoy a myriad of beers from around the world. Doug (bartender) is so knowledgeable about the beers they offer and will always try to steer you to one that fits your beer style. Sherry (bartender) is knowledgeable as well, and has the greatest personality and smile, which always makes you feel welcome, whether you are a regular or a first-timer at Shallos. Shallos is a great place and I recommend it to others frequently.
Good food, good drinks! My husband and I have been going there for almost 7 years and he has been going since he was 21. His name is on the wall for the beer list and he's going do it agian! I'm so proud!
By far the best beer selection. And a great place to meet friends to just relax. The atmosphere is great. Weather you are there to watch a game or grab a bite to eat, you wont be disapointed. Also a great place for kids with reasonably priced meals. Plus if there is a new brew on draft you can always ask for a taste before you buy!
It is AWESOME to finally see Shallos get the attention is deserved! I worked at Shallos for about 9 years and I miss the aptmosphere and all the staff! Way to go on the second place award! And by far, the best French onion soup in Indy!
Shallos is great place to go to sample all kinds of beer. I don't think I've been anywhere that has this large of a selection. They also have great food!
The bartenders, especially Doug, Steph, Sherry and Shelly, make Shallos so fabulous. Thanks to them and many great drinks, it's our second home. The management, the servers and cooking staff are fab, too. Everyone there makes you feel like you're sitting in your own living room watching the game with your friends while drinking kick ass beer and great drinks.
Shallo's has by far the best beer selection in town...maybe in the Midwest. Those guys do an awesome job in the kitchen to. They have great steaks and an amazing pork tenderloin. Love the steak lunch specials. Keep it up...number 1 in my book.
Without a doubt, Shallos is the best place in Indy to get a beer, especially if you're interested in trying craft or international beers that you maybe haven't had before or can't get at any other bar in town. If you vote for any other establishment as having the best beer selection, you haven't been to Shallos. Count 'em!
